Ideal boiler noise & flame loss warning

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.37 PM

Hi folks. My tenant's Ideal boiler regularly makes a strange noise which coincides with a flame loss/contact installer message. I've had my usual gas engineer out and they can't find anything wrong with the boiler (mains pressure, gas valve, fan, condensate, plate-to-plate all checked, clean, no debris and all fine). The pressure sometimes drops slightly when calling for hot water, but radiators working fine. Someone has suggested it could be the "baffles"? Any ideas or suggestions? Would really appreciate the help as I'm baffled! UPDATE: Ideal engineer has been. Identified it was a calibration issue. Tenant says he replaced part and noise is gone :). Thanks for the suggestions

The boiler does not have baffles it’s a blocked trap of flue turret seal not fitting correctly

I would say it was either the flue turret seal or the burner plate is loose
