Concern of safety of Gas Flume Outlet
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.58 PM
Our neighbours have recently completed a ground floor extension. The gas flume is sat underneath the extractor fan for the downstairs shower room. It is within 300mm and both are within 300mm of the property boundary. Two questions (1) Is it safe ?, and (2) Is it legal ?. If it is not legal who should I report the issue too? Thanks

Ideally and since the outlet is within 1500mm of the boundary the installer should have fitted a plume management kit to prevent nuisance to neighbors. Without seeing it i cannot comment, but if you contact Gas Safe Register and Report to them they will contact the customer and installer to either rectify or attend and confirm whether its allowable and been installed to British Standards and within the current regulations.
