Franke tap - leak on neck of tap

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.57 PM

Grateful for some advice - I don't know a huge amount about taps and plumbing. I have a Franke athena tap which was dripping and was fixed by a plumber who put new cartridges on both hot and cold taps. The tap is now leakig at the neck where is meets the taps. The same plumber who recently fixed it maintains he didn't cause the leak and the tap must have another fault. He said I have two options - replace the seal or, in his opinion, opt for a new tap. The tap is only 3 years old so I can't see why I should have to buy a new tap already. Any advice on what I should do? Thanks.

A Franke tap should not need replacing after only 3 years. It is possible the tap is faulty but it may be worth checking the plumbers has used the recommended inserts and not a cheaper alternative.

I would agree with the plumber that changing the tap barrels would not course the tap spout to leak. But if you say tap is only 3 years old. Franke taps have a 5 year guarantee . If you have proof of purchase and contact them with your fault they usually give you the parts required.
