UK Power Network Questions Regarding New Meter Installation
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.57 PM
Good Evening, Looking to get a new electricity meter installed in a communal hallway to power the following: - Grade A: LD2 Fire Alarm system - 2-3 single plug sockets - 4-5 walls lights We need to specify the following information to UK Power Network and I have no idea! 1) Single or three phase? 2) kVA? Thanks very much in advance. Best Matthew Elliott **UPDATE** Thanks S&J Electrical and HP Property and Landscaping Services. Basically I am a director of the company which owns the freehold and we recently undertook a Fire Risk Assessment of the communal parts (essentially the main hallway and two flights of stairs) as the building was once a house and has been converted into 4 flats, each with their own meter and supply. Anyway we were told that we need to fit a Grade A: LD2 Fire Alarm system HOWEVER this should be powered off a communal supply/meter (which does not exist hence the request to UK power) and NOT one of the tenants. I am guessing because tenants should not subsidize the landlord but more importantly if they were to get cut off through non payment of bills then the safety of the other residents would be compromised.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?
