Can I add fencing to wall?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.57 PM

Hi my neighbour has replaced boundary fence with a smaller wall and so now have a window looking right into my driveway. My outside lantern now shines right into this window which they have made into a bedroom, so I don’t like to put it on as they only have thin curtains and don’t want them to have my light shining in their room at night. For more privacy I would like to put a fence topper on this part of the wall- attached on my side. Is this ok? I only want to put it to the height of the original fence and trellis that was there. The neighbour has only done the property up to sell and is now moving. The wall is much less than 2 metres on their side. I live on a hill so their house is higher up than mine and they have put a side gate up against this wall and the gate posts stick up higher than the wall! Looks very strange and I just want to cover this area up and also so my dogs don’t keep barking when they see a persons head go past as the wall is so low their side. Many Thanks

Yes it would be possible to add a fence to the wall with post clamps which sit on the wall and fix done the side for the post to sit on and simply slide the panel into the posts on top of the wall.

yes it would be possible in a couple of ways, you could use bolt down post feet or attach posts to the side of the wall and run fence from that. If you could provide pictures we could tell you the best solution to your problem.

Hi The simple answer would be to put a fence up in front of his wall as long it is not higher than 2metres high, then this would be your fence Mike G
