Hairline cracks after a month of been skimmed.
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.57 PM
We had a trade person in to skim our walls from my builder in the lounge. Everything seemed ok initially. So left a good review. Heating wasn't on during the week, and the walls were left to dry for 10 days prior to painting. We hired a skilled decorated we know and trust to paint the room. Over the last few weeks have noticed small hairline cracks appear, esp on a part of the wall that once would have been a chimney. Is this normal or should we be asking him to come back and look? Should it have happened so soon or does it indicate a problem??? I'm really concerned we have spent so much money on skimming and painting to now have to redo it. Any help would be appreciated
