Window lock mechanism

hi all, one of my windows lock mechanism is about to break, i was wondering if does any window mechanism fit all windows or are there specific lock mechanism for certain windows. Also i would like to buy the same mechanism as i currently have in all the windows, could you tell me how do i go about buying the same one? thank you

Depends if the lock mech/espag is still being made if not there will different make which will fit and work as good we use a universal product which fits most

Find out who made the windows then you can get the mechanism direct from them like for like,or remove one and look for makers names and google where and who makes them.the contact the maker.

Right if you want same take the mech out it's easy
Step 1 =remove handle
2 = undo all screws on mech keeps screws safe
Some mechs have name on gearbox/lock
If not take mech to your local locksmith shop/hardware shop they should be able to match it up or order one.
When new one comes fit it in reverse of removal.
Before you do all this check it not the handle spindle rounding
