Mains gas pipe for boiler

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.57 PM

I Have recently had a new kitchen fitted but when it was done the gas pipe running to it was put along the side of the boiler buried in the wall and had been hit when the guys were fixing the cabinets, I have been told by the chap who fixed the pipe that this is illegal and that it needs to run behind the boiler. Is this true? Is there any regulations as to where the feed for the boiler needs to be placed? I want to make sure before I contact the company who install the new boiler as its only one years old. Thanks.

Gas pipes are not allowed to be chased in walls as they can be dangerous when drilling and unaware of gas pipe buried in wall However gas pipes can be buried in concrete floors providing they depth regulations and suitable pipe must be selected Regards Sunny

You can’t run gas pipe along any wall but you can’t run copper or steel pipe along concrete floor unless the pipe work is sleeved

You Cannot bury gas pipes in a wall....full stop, get you boiler installer back to remedy it, or at least somebody that’s suitably qualified to do so

You can be fitted in a concrete wall, it can not be fitted in a cavity. If you have any doubt ring gas safe
