Perished felt towards outside of roof

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.39 PM

Hello wonder if I can get some advice I had two cracked tiles replaced on my roof recently and underneath one tile was very slight water , could be an old damage from pre getting the ridge tiles re-cemevted but this was 10 years ago and there is alot if moss on them Being honest the roof is 50 years old so we are considering a new roof anyway in the meantime we went in loft to investigate and the felt to one side of the roof, at the gutter/eaves was quite perished and a piece missing. My question is, would this let damp in? It isn't at all at present. Could this be from ridge tiles? Should I get this repaired while waiting for May/June time to get the new roof. All my roof tiles are in fact Hope someone can advise

Firstly if your thinking of a new roof you need to get it sorted Now. There is a national shortage of roofing tiles with most manufacturers quote 6mth before delivery Secondly seems pointless repairing something your going to replace as long as none of your tiles crack or break it should be fine for a short time

I would repair any broken tiles and ask you to save up for your new roof and give you a price... i dont rely on the felt to stop water i rely on my tiling/slating skills felt is for wind it replaced backpointing..
