Very low water pressure upstairs cold taps

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.40 PM

Sudden loss of water pressure in upstairs cold taps. Downstairs in kitchen is fine. Toilets all fine. Hot water is fine. What could be the problem? Many thanks

If the basin and bath taps are old it could be the rubber washers that are inside the knobs stuck restricting the flow of cold water. Also you haven’t mentioned that the water is coming from the mains or from the storage tank?

It could be a faulty tap gland or cartridge on the upstairs tap if downstairs is okay pressure. This likely the case if the cold water is mains fed.

Hi. The first thing is to establish where your water is fed from.....as in mains fed or tank fed. Once this has been established then we can help 👍
