Is high pressure polyethylene gas pipe (over 10 bar) possible ?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 2.54 PM

Based on standard and codes that I saw there is a limitation for operating pressure of PE GAS pipe (under 10 bar corresponding to "SDR more than 7") whats the reason? Any problem with mechanical properties of PE safety?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

First of all no gas pipe in domestic property's is plastic. you cannot use it on gas. Also no appliance in a domestic property runs of more than 20mbar usually. Plastic pipe is only used for gas pipework underground. Hope this is helpful for you.
