Toilet drain blocks regular

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.36 PM

I seem to have an issue where the drain directly outside the downstairs toilet blocks regular in order to self fix I cleaned out the vent pipe thinking it could be this and increased water flow to 12 litres from 10. From testing with toilet paper it seems that the water moves faster than the waste so any waste seems to get left behind or does not carry with the water far enough? Any ideas on what to do next would be great as its frustrating cleaning the drain every few weeks.

as frustrating as it maybe, but the cheapest and quickest solution to this. Is to pour a bucket of water down the toilet after use.

there is a fault with the drain, either it is partially blocked has sunk, or roots have grown into it, it will not get better, have someone look at it and repair it.

If the solids are moving quicker than the water it would seem the gradient on the waste pipe is to high causing velocity. A fall of 1:40 is a good fall to provide a self-cleansing waste. If the fall is too much the water flows much quicker than the the paper.
