Fit 2 rows of engineered oak floor in the middle of room after stud wall removal
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.36 PM
Some people told me the half room's floor need refitting from the point of the 2 rows. 2 stud wall removed to create an open space feeling. This is in the middle of the room. The previous builders- who removed the wall, have filled the gap by fitting two rows of original floor from the storage room- they were glued.but they fit with two cross joints and squeaking. Picture has just been advertised as a new job today. I have found a matched floor. Colour is not a concern, the original floor has a big range of colours.

In order to get the tongue and groove locked in and the strength from that you would need to lift the floor.
Big job but worth it.

You can continue laying the flooring from this point as long as the new flooring matches up with the old.
All subfloor boards should be screwed into the joists.
