NEW RADIATORS OLD FLOORS AND PIPES

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.36 PM

Hi There i have radiators that are over 8 years old. I have wooden flooring that is laid and I'm looking to replace the radiators. If they replace them and adjust the pipes do they have a way of laying the flooring back down without ruining it? Or will I lose my wooden floors? Thanks s

Well if your flooring is new or looks great and you want to keep it looking great, it is best to hire a carpenter! Lliase with the gas engineer , so you can keep things how you want them, Gas engineers are not carpenters period. It would be unreasonable to ask your gas engineer or expect your engineer to complete another trades dept.

Tray to buy same size radiators, if you can’t same sizes ask them to get radiator valve extensions. Otherwise you floor will be damaged, it’s very difficult to put wooden floor back the same way it was put originally. Good luck

Depends on how careful you are in getting the floorboards up in the first place, as to whether you are able to use them again when you are in a position to put them back down.

Check the sizes of your radiators you want to replace , if they are only avout 8 years old then would expect the new radiators to be of similar sizes. It is possible to install a radiator and make up any small difference with radiator valve extensions. They can be purchased in chrome.
