Low flow and no heat in hot water from kitchen mixer tap (Combi Bolier)
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.57 PM
I've recently had (quite a lot) of work carried out on my Vaillant Ecotec Combi boiler: - Boiler fault finding - Full strip out and service gas boiler - Power flush central heating, install system filter, scale reducer, supply and fit radiator valves - Supply and fit Sentinel magnetic system filter - Supply and install Inline scale reducer - Vaillant boiler servicing gasket kit - Supply new mass air flosensor 0020135122 for Vaillant Ecotec boiler. - Replace sensor and test the boiler. However, I am now experiencing a low flow rate and no hot water from the kitchen mixer tap. It is a Kitchen Sink Mixer Tap with a tap for hot water and a tap for cold water. When I turn the cold water tap on, there is no issue. Flow rate is good. However, when I turn the hot tap on, there is very poor flow rate, and the water does not get hot (even when left running for a few minutes). All other taps in the flat have hot water (shower mixer, bathroom sink mixer tap, separate bath hot tap), with good flow rate. I've checked the ballofix valve on the hot water feed under the sink - and this is open. Is it possible to get an airlock from a combi boiler? Or is this more likely to be a tap issue - and will need to purchase a new mixer tap unit?
