Zero pressure on worchester 25si combi boiler

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.56 PM

I have a worchester 25si combi when the system is not in use I.e heating off and no hot water, pressure builds. But second I use hot water or heating the pressure drops to zero. But I do still hower maintain good hot water and heating even though pressure is on zero. Is this normal or do I have a issue here.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

No not normal and would suggest you get a gas safe engineer to have a look.

definitely have a issue, the pressure sensor will be stuck so the boiler thinks it has enough pressure but it doesn't in turn damages more parts in boiler running at such a low pressure

You need a gas safe engineer to check your boiler.

From what you describe I am wondering if perhaps this boiler has been connected to an open vented system & the low pressure switch by-passed so it works. If previously it has maintained good pressure then the latter won't be the case. Either way, you need a gas safe engineer to inspect it pdq or your boiler is going to just wreak itself. If you know that it's a sealed / unvented system, then you should be able to top the pressure up from the mains. 1 bar when the system is cold is about right, but if you do this don't think it is fixed, because there is an important safety switch not working. Get this looked at asap.
