Economy 7, water not heating up over night

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.38 PM

Hi I'm having troubles with my hot water tank. I'm not getting any water heating up over night! The boost switch works and had a plumber and electrician round and told me everything is fine when it's not. The electrician had done his meter readings and was showing all fine. The tank is about 2 half years old and not the first time we have had this problem. In the past we have gone all weekend with no hot water then come Monday morning it works all fine as if there never been a problem. Please help

because the hot water works on boost mode , i would be suspecting that the economy 7 supply has failed to operate. if the light comes on the controller to inform you that the economy 7 has turned on then i would suspect the controller itself or the wires coming from it to the heater element have become loose either in the controller or where they connect to the element of the heater itself

Get the electrician to fit a switch with neon indicators on the immersion and check it lights up over night, that eliminates the supply side.
