Hi Roger, A good conversation with a decent tradesmen who is quoting will mainly cover the cost of the time. It depends on the size of the Job and what’s involved. If it’s standard work then most trades will give you a price for Labour more or less straight away. Hope this helps

some people charge for them some people dont you would have to ask the individual tradesmen if its a free quote or not

It depends on how much work there is to do on the quote, if you spend half the day on the phone or in the merchants that’s half a days pay you’ve lost

U should always quote for free. At the end of the day u want the work and other work can led on to. Its frustrating sometimes but you price a job knowing that u probably won't get it but that's how it goes.
