Can I use smart switches to control an updtairs landing light

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.39 PM

The existing system works with 2 off 2 gang switches, I downstairs and one upstairs. Each switch controls an independent light, while the other side of the switches control the landing light. Can I replace these switches with wifi smart switches?

Yes you can, but you might need an additional piece of kit to enable it. Lightwaverf.com is an example. Uses an App on your phone but voice control requires extra kit.

Yes you can carry out 2 way switching via "Smart" switches, you will only need to swap 1 of the switches and make sure the switch you are fitting is a 2 way type.

Yes, we use them all the time as retrofit and new builds. You can cantrol lights and or sockets but you need a different version for either. You can control over wi-fi if you want to

To my knowledge you can buy smart controlled light bulbs so you don’t have to change the switches. I believe they sell them on Amazon
