How can I reroute the ducting to my bathroom?

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.38 PM

I have a section of circular ducting running through my airing cupboard (approx 130cm wide), which connects a circular diffuser in the bathroom off to a central extraction system on the roof (shared extraction for a block of maisonettes). I want to fit a larger cold water storage tank in the airing cupboard, however the only way it could fit would be to reroute the ducting up over the tank and back down again to where it disappears into the wall. Thus adding 4 extra bends in the otherwise straight run of ducting. I have two questions: 1. Would this noticeably reduce the power of the extraction? 2. Is this typically the sort of job a plumber would do, or am I barking up the wrong tree? Thanks!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I’m no expert on extractors. But I would imagine adding bends to the ducting could have an effect on the flow of air. Might not be as good as opposed to a sweeping style (flexible) vent pipe
