Kitchen Fitting

New kitchen - floor tiles in before or after?

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.38 PM

I'm planning a new year, new kitchen banging together two small rooms to make one adequately sized one. Hence, the room will be stripped and empty before the new kitchen goes in. However, I was wondering whether it was wise, foolish or made no difference whether I had the kitchen tiles laid before putting the kitchen on top. Edit: Thank you for all the contributions. The winner by a landslide is floor tiles on first, so I'll do that!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I personally always recommend to fit the tiles before kitchen. 1 gives you a neater finish 2 if the tiler are good you can expect a levelled floor, better to fit a kitchen above it 3 if you have leak easier to clean

Also prevents a lot of poor installation issues preventing service engineers removing integrated appliances such as dishwashers.
