Can you run a Washing Machine with a large bucket of water and a water pump?

I have recently fixed a Washing Machine and placed it in an area with absolutely no water mains (for storage). It got me thinking the other day, would it be possible to use it with a large bucket of water with a pipe in it to pump to the inlet of the washing machine? It would only be on a quick 15 or rinse and spin. I was hoping to place a tube or pipe into a bucket, use a pump to pump it into the inlet using the supplied inlet pipe.
