Can you run a Washing Machine with a large bucket of water and a water pump?

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.38 PM

I have recently fixed a Washing Machine and placed it in an area with absolutely no water mains (for storage). It got me thinking the other day, would it be possible to use it with a large bucket of water with a pipe in it to pump to the inlet of the washing machine? It would only be on a quick 15 or rinse and spin. I was hoping to place a tube or pipe into a bucket, use a pump to pump it into the inlet using the supplied inlet pipe. I looked at this but not sure that it would work Pump: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00L90478Q/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=A33LRO9OOPCNMX&psc=1 If this pump won't work, what would be the best way to achieve this? Many Thanks, Andy

I'm sorry for being blunt, But DONT BE SILLY. Next you'll be asking if you can run the electricity for via a kids windmill thing. Just call a plumber to see if its possible to pipe it in correctly. That question made me laugh and wonder what's actually going on in people's heads..

Best bet is put a washing machine in a place that is suitable, with a water connection available.

To answer your question no, I wouldn’t advice or recommend trying to do that. Call a plumber to come around and inspect and come up with a viable, safe solution for you
