Replacing wall hung toilet
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.18 PM
Hi there, I am in the process of ordering my new bathroom, in particular a toilet. I currently have wall hung toilet and want to replace it with a new wall hung toilet. Will I need to replace the cistern too, or can I just attach a new toilet to the existing cistern? Many thanks!

Hi there and i hope I can answer this question for you without seeing whats going on so I've made some assumptions
I'd always change the cistern for a modern unit with new parts and efficiency scoring . In my experience any new cistern installation would be the quicker more efficient solution providing access us sufficient if course.

Hi
The most cost effective solution is to replace the porcelain toilet pan with
the same brand as the cistern system. The most popular brand is Geberit,
whose customer services line will help you with a compatible replacements.
Replacing the unit is straight forward, all the work done within one day for
an experienced plumber. Good luck..

Hi
As my experience , it is better to check fixing kit for hang toilet to be fit for your new pan .
You should to replace your cistern if it’s broken . if it’s working better to replace it or service .
