Ceiling still dripping after roof repair

7 days ago during heavy rain fall we started getting a drip coming through our kitchen ceiling. The kitchen is an extention with a pitched roof. We had a roofer fix a hole in the felt but 4 days later the ceiling is still dripping. My question is is this normal? We have had very little rain since the repair so I don't think water is still getting in but there appears to be a lot of water still coming through. There is now a large hole in the ceiling so I thought any water that was up there would be long gone by now. The water is a dirty orange colour if that helps. Any advice would be greatfully recieved. Thank-you for all your replies, unfortunately the roof is still leaking. We had the roofers come back and they claimed it was the down pipe causing the leak and have extended it. This has made no difference. Looks like we will have to pay for another company to come and have a look.
