Water leaking from neighbour's garage into mine.
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.35 PM
My garage is the end one of a block of four. I have been getting a wet patch at the end where my bench is situated. My neighbour says that he has a leaking roof. I've asked him to fix it but he hasn't done anything about it. I would like to know whether there is anything I could apply to area that the water comes in, the bottom of the wall, to stop it.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

there's nothing you can put there to stop this it would just be trying to cover the original issue which will come back within a few weeks , I would advise the owner that he needs to either get the hole or leak fixed as its starting to cause internal damage to you're property before the cost is even more when repairing you're internal work is added there's not a quick fix for a leak sorry it needs to be sorted at the source

There is nothing you can do in your garage, you could fix the leak if its causing issues your neighbour wont sort, if it's a hole or crack you could try covering with flash band (heated) so it sticks

Hi
If I have read this correctly you have a puddle and you believe the water is coming through the lower part of the wall that adjoins with your neighbours garage which has a roof leak ?
If it’s only coming through the side wall floor joints and it’s a masonry wall you could use a waterproof tanking PRODUCT
Only if it’s the sidewall/floor and it’s masonry.
