Replacing felt on sides of dormer

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.35 PM

I am currently getting the rear roof redone, this includes a dormer window. The men doing it have said that they would be leaving the old felt on the sides of the dormer and be putting PVC cladding over the top of it. Then use aquaseal liquid roof on the top.One of my quotes before i accepted these specifically said remove the felt and then put the cladding on. Which way would be the best way to do it?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Great Question. We usually recommend removing the felt, this gives you perfect opportunity to install or top up insulation in the timber frame walls, then install a breathable membrane and then cladding of your choice Matt
