Brown line stain following radiator pipes

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.35 PM

We’ve reverently had an extension Built. With building this we’ve had new radiators put in. The rest of the system is on copper. The new two radiators are on push fit. This has been chased into the wall and plastered over. However now it’s got colder there seems to be a brown stain following exactly where the new pipe goes across the roof. I can feel the pipe and wall warm where the pipe runs so I know it’s that. No loss of pressure in the system at since completed 6 months ago. But now this stain has appeared. We’ve had very cold weather and bad rain lately. Any advice on what this could. It’s for sure follows the pipe.

It sounds like the roof is leaking and the water is following the route of the pipes in the wall

Sounds like density tape has been used to protect pipes this is a bad practice as staining will always happen gas safe dropped its use some years ago because of excessive complaints only remedy is to chase out pipes again and remove tape re coat with bitumen paint and replaster

The pipes should have been insulated before being plastered over !!
