Tiling Victorian cast iron fireplace insert

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.35 PM

I bought a Victorian cast iron fireplace (decorative use only), it has an insert with space for 5 tiles down each side. I have purchased suitable tiles. What adhesive should i use and is there is a particular method i should follow for this job?

If applying tiles to a fireplace surround, then flexible adhesive type S1 with fibre is best choice, over say a standard C1 tile cementitious adhesive. The S1 tile adhesive is widely used for underfloor heating applications so would be perfect choice tile adhesive for fireplace surrounds to deal with thermal expansion.
