Why does the Hot water go cold in my Bath and shower mixer taps only.

Any one have any idea as to why the water in my victorian bath and shower mixer tap would start off hot then go very luke warm? It used to be hot all the time but recently it has started going luke warm to cold. The hot water in the sink and kitchen are fine and come out pipping hot. I have a Main Eco 25 combi boiler, and have notic it gives of a loud bang/thump when i turn the heating or hot water on. I have also noticed when I turn the hot water on for the bath shower the temperature starts dropping on the display of the boiler, but this does not happen when I turn the hot water tap on in the bathroom sink. Some have said it could be: - The HE Plates or the diaphram in diverters or the divertors themselves or pressure relive valves need cleaning or changing -Reducing the tempreture on the hot water dial on the water - checking the washers etc on the taps itself, as cold water could be coming through ? Would like a difinitive avenue to follow rather then fork out lots of money on trial and error. Thanks in advance.
