How to reduce flow rate needed to turn on hot water?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.55 PM

We have a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 25i boiler that was fitted around a year ago. Very good compared to our old 1980s boiler but only problem is that the tap has to be nearly fully open to get the boiler to start heating the water. Is there any way to reduce the flow needed for the boiler to start heating the water? Getting sick of either wasting loads of water or doing the dishes cold! Thank you.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Unfortunately that is how a combi boiler works, you will not really be able to over come that problem you have to have your tap open fully to call the boiler to come on.

Hi. Your boiler should have a pre heat setting. This means that your boiler will heat the water inside every 5mins or so. As the water inside will be up to temperature all the time. Less cold water will be wasted. Hope this helps
