Kitchen Fitting

Do I have to have a bespoke U shaped kitchen if one of the angles is not a right-angle?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.38 PM

We're building an extension in Spring 2021 and are going to fit a new kitchen at the same time. We would like a U shape rather than an L shape kitchen, but one of the angles is not 90 degrees (more like 70 degrees). Does that mean we would need to go down the expensive bespoke kitchen route? We rather wouldn't, and if it does mean that then we'd opt for an L shape, but this won't be as good. Any advice welcome. Thanks!

A “Bespoke” kitchen isn’t necessarily expensive. There are plenty of retailers who can supply made-to-measure cabinets at a similar price to an off the shelf kitchen. Aside from that, any competent fitter would be able to adapt standard sized cabinets to accommodate your unusual shaped room. Hope this helps.

It just means you need a deeper worktop that can have a sliver cut from the back to create the illusion of it being square. The units can be square and the worktop over hang them at the back.
