Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 2.52 PM
Hi, I am considering buying a used conservatory. 8yrs old. Would appreciate advice as to if this wise and if yes what to look for before purchasing.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Buying a used conservatory can be a nightmare. Every fitter out there will build a wall first then measure for the frames and roof to fit the walls.
To try and build a wall to fit an old conservatory is quite hard, if its not to the exact dimensions then nothing will fit.
If its uPVC from floor to roof it's a bit easier.
I would save the money up or get one on finance, shop round for a good deal.
Rehau frames, Synseal Global roof if you can find someone who fits them.
You will benefit from a guarantee and a new conservatory.

Make sure all parts are there and where they go - any damage can sometimes not be easily rectified
Check the glazing units for condensation and the rubber seals are not perished
I would not buy a second hand conservatory if I was not capable of putting it together.
Would you buy a damaged car if you were not a mechanic !!
