Tiling

Porcelain tiles. Using cut offs to pack uneven floor

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.37 PM

Hi We had thought the builder had leveled the extension withe the old floor when they had knocked down the wall. Tiler started and found it is not. We have 600x900 porcelain tiles. We don't have time to further skreet to bring it level so the tiler suggested using cut offs of the tiles to pack underneath with the mixture to being the level correct. He days it is fine but I am not sure so any advice would be helpful. Thanks

It's fine if he can level the rest with the adhesive, otherwise just latex the uneven spots

To do the job properly use levelling compound to level and adhesive to stick!! There are many levelling compounds you can tile onto after a few hours
