Fitting an Induction hob
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.37 PM
Hi, I want to fit an induction hob. The hole cut into my work surface is 56cm wide. Would I be able to fit an induction hob with a width 59cm? Thanks
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Quite often the hole size for the hob is standard at 560mm even if the hob is larger but its always good practice to double check to save dissapointment.

Have you bought your hob yet? I suggest reading the Installation guide, it will state exactly how wide the cutout will be. Then if you can choose one for the hole size, great, or can you increase the cutout if necessary.

As previous answer I would check cut out size first, if it is 590 it may be wider than unit is sitting on therefore you may need to cut away sides of units. Another thing to watch is depth of induction jobs are sometimes deeper than non induction, this may affect a drawer if it’s below hob especially if your worktop is thinner than 40mm

The only sure way is to measure the back of the the hob , this sinks into the worktop and then leaves aprrox 10-15mm surface edge above depending on the design . Ow and check again / i measure 2 times then mark out with a black marker then check again ....
Once the aperture is cut out , thats it . You dont want to be paying for a new worktop because you rushed this part .
