Should replaced sections of moisture resistant plasterboard be taped at the edges?

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.38 PM

I’ve been told today by a contractor assessing a job to replace part of a wall that the edges of moisture resistant plasterboard must be taped to maintain its integrity in the even of damp or leak. Is that normal practice?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?
