Fencing

Special size fence panel.

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.41 PM

Can you build a fence panel that is a few inches wider than the normal 5 feet to accomodate the gap between two concrete posts?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Use a six foot panel. mark top and bottom the desired width. Move end battons from front and back and refix. Cut down side of batton , and you will have the panel you need.

You can have a panel built to whatever size you want but these days fencing contractors will not entertain it. They will usually use an extra post and cut down 2 panels to suit. we used to be able to build them to 8 foot wide but these were specials and expensive. I have just priced a job where they had 7 foot wide larch lap panels with timber posts and I said I would only use 6 foot panels so it would be extra posts and panels to bring it into line with today's standards.
