Screed bathroom floor

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.17 PM

My bathroom floor is tiled but a lot of the tiles are cracked and broken so want to replace with lino. Ive heard you can screed over tiles so won't have to take toilet out. How long would it take to do ?and to dry? as need to stay in property and use toilet.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi there, thanks for your message, personally, I wouldn’t screed over tiles, I would take up tiles up to the toilet, then take toilet out and tiles up where toilet was and back in straight away, I always leave a customer with a using toilet no matter what stage the job is at. Then fit the new Lino straight onto the flooring , providing it it’s in good enough condition. Hope this helps. Regards Jamie

If tiles are not that bad use a self levelling compound that dries within a few hours to walk on then Lino next day.
