Changed a radiator in the bathroom to a towel rail now the radiators wont work

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.17 PM

Hello We got a radiator in the bathroom changed to a towel rail radiator and now when we turn the thermastat up to turn the heating on the boiler turns to status "c" and the radiators wont come on, we have reset the boiler which the manufactor says to do so but it still goes to c once we turn the thermastat on. The hot water is still working though. Could anyone advise on what to do? Thanks

Sketchy information, you dont say if the new towel radiator is the only 1 heats up. My guess is, if the new 1 heats up only and the rest dont then possibly you need to balance all the radiators. I take it you have an ideal boiler as the "c" means central heating mode and "d" means direct hot water so the boiler is working fine and telling you it's in central heating mode. Weather or not the boiler fires up is another question so you would have to give more information

C usually means system calling for heat. Simply reset the boiler ( google it if you need to know how ) and you should be fine. Make sure the new rad is free of air by purging it with a radiator key. Happy Christmas. Guy
