Mira Shower - old model (Mira Advance Thermostatic ATL) malfunction

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.16 PM

Mira Shower - old model (Mira Advance Thermostatic ATL) malfunction. This is an older model with a temperature dial, 3 flow levels - high, medium, low a stop button - each with a light 3 green for flow and a red for stop. below this there is a service light and a low pressure light. When washing out the tray with lowest temperature on the dial and high flow, after finishing, I pressed the stop button, replaced the head in the bracket and almost immediately the unit went back to green and water flowed, I repressed the stop and it started making a high pitched sound. I have switched off at the external on/off and have retried but again - only the high pitched sound and red stop light. I read in other manuals about resetting but these are for newer models, can anyone advise?

buy the time you try to repair it, and pay for an electrician or a plumber, then again after a while, then after, you will buy a new one, so 3 times before you replace it. it will cost you a lot, I think to get a plumber, or an electrician he knows about plumbing, or plumber knows about electric, do it all in one, it's cheaper than getting a plumber and an electrician

Depends where you are on the cost of replacement A new shower is around £180 + fitting A Red Ring will cost less than £100 + fitting
