Can you remove a lug and connect to the main lighting circuit?

Can I remove a plug from a picture light and connect it to mains lighting circuit? I have the cable and light switch ready to go; just no light attached to the end! I’d ideally like to attach 3 picture lights as they are to go above a run of bookcases. Is it possible to connect 3 lights to one cable/switch? I’m assuming I’d need an electrician to do the wiring but need to know if this is possible and what space/provision before I build my bookcases in the way! Any advice appreciated!

If you are looking to get an electrician to do the job, it would be best to get them to look at it first as they will be able to tell you what they will feel comfortable with, but almost certainly it will be pissible

So long as it is fused correctly, you can do all of that.
Like you say, an electrician will be needed. They would be best suited to advise.
