Do i have to balance radiator lockshields if ALL my radiators get hot as each other
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.34 PM
I have 9 radiators on oversised boiler. New build house with New Combi All radiators get to 64C equaly as fast with boiler set to eco All have digital TRVs (except one where thermometer is kept) The flow is fast and not much temperature drop from in/out pipes some boiler cycling due to TRV's hitting prefered temperatures fast I did balance them to 11C drop but this caused excessive cycling in my boiler Any ideas - i dont have a clue about these things :¬):¬) Mac

Hi,
Sounds like your system is working pretty well. Generally speaking, balancing radiators only becomes a requirement when one or two of them are not heating properly - that does not seem to be a problem in your case. As a rule of thumb the difference between the flow
( in ) and the return ( out ) should be around 11 degrees C. It would seem your system is running a little hot. Try either turning down the TRVs or the boiler heat control.
