Bricklaying & Repointing

Do I have to have these air bricks in kitchen

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.34 PM

I have an old original kitchen from 1984 or so with visible air bricks near the ceiling wall. We are looking to replace the entire kitchen. Do these have to stay in place. I have not seen these unsightly visible things in any other new kitchen?? Thanks in advance.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The vents are required to allow condensation out they can be made smaller and fit a new cover the alternative is to have an extraction fan vented to an outside wall

If there is electrical wiring involved in the new kitchen, I would highly recommend the extractor. Also check if there are trickle vents in your window, these can be added.
