i want to make my roof space warmer
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.34 PM
I was wondering if you could give me some advice please. My roof space gas no membrane in at present and I am looking at the best way to do this. My rafters are only 75mm so not much room there. Would it be best to batten out the rafters by 75mm so I have enough space for 100mm cellotex or similar and enough to leave a 50mm air gap. Then cover with foil type insulation.

Dont over think it . Unless you are trying to meet building standards.
You must maintain a 25 mm air gap behind Insulation to allow air to flow freely and remove moisture. You would be advised to fit ridg vents .. so fit 40 mm Celotex inbetween and use iso 10 quilt over lay fixed with battons and plaster board.
Hope that helps .
