New skirting before or after skimming?
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.34 PM
Hi All I have a small room 2m x 2.4m The walls are uneven and I’m looking to get them skimmed to straighten them out. The property is 20 years old, so they “should” be pretty straight. I’ll be replacing the skirting boards in this room along with the architraves. Should I get the walls skimmed before or after replacing the wood work?

Best to have all skimming work completed first then replace / refit skirting boards and architraves and all finishing work.
