Toilet basin tap is not triggering boiler

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.34 PM

My toilet basin mixer tap is not triggering the boiler to get hot water. Every other tap in the house including the bath is fine, I replaced the mixer tap on my basin thinking it was faulty but it is still the same still not triggering the boiler to give me hot water, the flow rate is good coming out the tap.,I have a plumber coming today to fit another new mixer tap as the one I fitted was a cheap ebay one, thanks for the replys i will be sure to mention them. So the plumber let me down but I fitted the new tap myself witch to be honest wasnt that difficult( I'm a joiner) it is still not firing the boiler up, I did isolate the cold water tap and just let the hot on to see if that triggered the boiler bit it didnt so the problem has got to be boiler related. Ok so I disconnected the hot flexi from the tap and the boiler triggered on I put it back on the tap into a bucket and it didnt trigger the boiler but when I disconnect the flexi from the tap the boiler triggers on this is the third set of taps that I have tryed, I have been told that it could be soming to do with the pressure/flow in the boiler as I have noticed that it does take a few seconds for the boiler to trigger on with my other hot taps. thoughts guy/gals. The job has now been sorted it was a new flow valve and gas valve needed for the boiler water is now very hot out all taps for anyone that's having similar problems.

Are you sure the hot and cold water supplies are the right way around try disconnecting tap and running the water in to a bucket to see if that triggers the boiler to come on

first check filters in tap if there are any, check any service valves are fully open, this sounds like something is restricting the flow thus not firing the boiler, it could be the taps, or service vales.your flexi might be to restrictive.

Does the cold tap on the sink run cold or hot? Although it is a standard to have the hot tap on the left and the cold on the right, this isn't always the case. Otherwise, if the hot tap has a good water flow but doesn't trigger the boiler, it has been connected to the cold water by mistake. I would also check that the toilet hasn't been plumbed to the hot water .
