Is it possible to reroute the Saniflo pipe with the traditional waste pipe to the back of the house

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.55 PM

Hi Everyone, We would like to ask if it is possible to replace the Saniflo pipe with the traditional waste pipe from the en-suite bathroom on the first floor, at the FRONT of the house, to the BACK of the house. (At the moment, the Saniflo pipe goes to the loft and across the house to the back of the house. Please see the photo highlighted in red.) Please see the Floorplan for the house from here https://photos.app.goo.gl/2oYEwow1aF9SDW999 As this is an en-suite bathroom at the front of the house, and next to the bedroom is the staircase and landing to two other rooms, I don't know if it is possible to route the waste pipe back to the back. 1) If we can do this re-routing, should we rip off the carpet and goes between the floor ? 2) How much does it cost to do this work ? We saw one design where the waste pipe goes to the front of the house outward and down to the sewage at the front of the house, but I don't know if it is possible to do it like that here. Thank you so much for your invaluable advice.

Wow, that is some journey that waste is going on! I suspect it was at the time the easiest route, but not pretty at all! It would be much nicer if the pipe ran under the flooring to the back of the house and then joined the waste downpipe in the same way it does currently but further down. Not difficult as such, but a lot of time would be taken up lifting floors, routing new pipe potentially through joists and then boring a new hole through the brick wall to the outside. Going to cost you a days labour, and some extra for parts, maybe £300-£400 max
