When can wooden supports be removed after applying bonding coat?
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.55 PM
Hello, I'm having a go at applying some bonding plaster to a small indoor area and wanted to ask.. at what point can wooden supports that have been screwed into the wall to create a straight level edge be removed? is it 2/3 hours? Is there any issue leaving the supports on for a couple of days and then take it off? I know you can do this with concrete, as when the concrete starts drying in a few days, it separates from the wood so you can remove it quite easily, but I am not sure about bonding? Thank you!

Leave it 24 hours..but before you remove wood run a stanley knife down the side of wood were bonding meets, this will allow the wood to come away without pulling bonding off.

Generally I would recommend leaving them in for 24 hours, they may be fine after 3 - 4 hours.
