What size porcelain tile and offset or not

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.55 PM

I can't decide which tile size to use in hallway (15m2) and lounge (22m2). I have chosen a porcelain polished rectified tile. Size options include 600 x 600mm, 750 x 750mm or 600 x 1200mm. Any preference to tile size and whether to offset would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi. 120x60 cm tiles will give you more modern look definitely. Small grout lines 2mm and not too dark grout will make it clean and calm. Lighter colour tiles will expand the room with bringing more light in. King regards Nw10tilers

It’s worth seeing how the different sizes set out... particularly in the hallway if it is narrow to avoid little cut tiles. Big format porcelain tiles tend not to be totally flat which means it’s not possible to lay a totally flat floor if you have the tiles in offset pattern so I would recommend laying them straight.

You can't offset square tiles it would look awful. Rectangular ones look good when there either staggered 50/50 or even 70/30. If using rectangular tiles always tile longways across the widest area
