Damp Proofing

New extension wall right up against neighbours extension

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.55 PM

I am planning to build my new extension wall right up against my neighbours extension wall. Should I be worried about damp coming from their wall into mine if their DPc is faulty? Is it best to leave a small gap instead? -‘ inch or so But we don’t want to step too far away - or we will lose internal space- would a couple of cm do? Or can we upgrade the DPC of the neighbours wall?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes leave a 100mm gap and when you arrive at your desired height lap some lead across from your wall to theres and a vertical plastic facia between building to blank face off Or you could put a membrane up neighbors wall 2 coats aquaseal and put up sheets 25 mm Celotex and put wall up against Celotex
