Can I knock holes into a chimney breast

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.54 PM

I'd like to sink my tv, sky box, dvd player into the chimney breast and I was wondering would it upset the integrity of the chimney stack and if so how would i get around this? I'd also like to add bookshelves on the sides. Is it possible?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes you can but you must fit supporting lintels to keep the integrity of the chimney and i would advise using a biulder to carry out the work bear in mind once this work is completed the chimney cannot be used for the use of its flue
